GC Herren 1: Auswärtssieg in Lugano

GC Herren 1: Auswärtssieg in Lugano

Grasshoppers registered an emphatic victory away at Lugano in their penultimate game of round 2. The Zurich team took numerous positives from the fixture, however, were still left ruing a host of missed chances and will look to improve their effectiveness in front of goal in the coming weeks. This fixture saw the welcome return from injury of Argentinian skiller Luciano Ferrario and the Australian tenacity of Patrick Krüsi following spells on the sidelines.

The Zurich club started slowly in the first half and relied on a trademark Patrick Krüsi tomahawk to start the afternoon proceedings which ultimately turned into a goal scoring procession. Benjamin Eddy made it 2-0 mid-way through the first half, with further goals from Nahuel Salis and Fabio Landtwing ensuring a comfortable 4-0 lead at the break.

The second half started uncomfortably for Grasshoppers as they conceded from Lugano’s only shot of the game however, the goal scoring exhibition clicked into gear once more and goals from Lukas Müller, Patrick Krüsi’s second and two more from Fabio Landtwing who clinch his hattrick. The ninth and final goal came when the arching dynamic running of Joël Plambeck popped up at the back post to slot home and capped the day off.

GC will playe against Luzern in their final game of round 2 next week, at Hardhof 13:00hrs. Be there!
