GCZ 2 - HCO 2 --- 2:2 (a.P. 2-4)
What a day at home! After two games had already been played on our pitch, we were ready to finish the day with a third and final match against Olten. With a great crowd still around the pitch supporting us, there was plenty of energy and atmosphere from the first whistle.
We started with determination, but Olten found a way through our defence in the first quarter to take an early lead. We stayed composed, kept fighting and gradually found our rhythm. Just before the end of the second quarter, Naomi put us back on level terms with a well-deserved goal: 1–1.
The momentum continued into the second half, and we took the lead when Maru produced a beautiful finish from a short corner. 2–1! We fought hard to protect our advantage, but Olten managed to break through our defence once more, bringing the score to 2–2.
With neither team able to find a winner, it was time for the dreaded shootouts. Unfortunately, Olten proved stronger in the final showdown and took the win.
Still, there is plenty to be proud of. We showed character, fought for every ball and never gave up. A big thank you to everyone who came out to support us today!
Now we look ahead with confidence to the rest of the season.
