SHC Genève - Grasshopper Club Zürich --- 3 - 2
After a narrow 3:2 victory in our first game of the season – where we led 3:0 before letting things slip – we travelled to Genève with one clear goal: to improve our focus and take home some crucial points for the end of the season.
The match didn’t start as planned. Genève came out strong, and after a quick hit into the circle and a mishandled trap on our side, SHC capitalised to take an early 1:0 lead. We struggled to find our rhythm in the first quarter but slowly grew into the game.
It wasn’t until the second quarter that we finally combined well through midfield, stringing together a series of crisp passes before Pupo finished clinically to level the score at 1:1.
Unfortunately, history repeated itself early in the second half. A lack of concentration right after the restart saw Genève regain the lead. But we responded well – Pascal converted a well-executed short corner to bring us back to 2:2 and restore belief.
In the final quarter, we pushed hard for the winner, showing real intent and creating several promising chances. However, in the closing minutes, a quick counterattack and a chain of small mistakes proved costly, as Genève found the decisive goal to make it 3:2. Despite a late surge, we couldn’t find another equaliser and left Genève empty-handed.
It’s a tough result to swallow. We’ll take the lessons from this match and work hard in training to prepare for our final game of 2025 against Wettingen in Zürich.
A big thank you to all the supporters who travelled with us – your energy and encouragement mean a lot!
Goals: Pascal, Nahuel
