HC Olten - Grasshopper Club Zürich --- 4-0
We used a brand-new game strategy today when we played Olten at home, switching to a 4-3-3 structure with three forwards, three midfielders, and four defenders. The modification gave our play new vitality and organization.
We got off to a great start in the first quarter, displaying good ties between the strikers, midfielders, and defenders. Our offensive plays were fluid, and we produced a number of good opportunities. But Olten took the lead after he took advantage of a penalty corner.
We maintained our cohesive play in the second quarter, pressing high and playing defense as a team. Sadly, Olten counterattacked sharply down the left wing, scoring through a field goal by Devorde and adding another from a penalty corner after our teamwork earned us a penalty corner.
Our third-quarter performance was still outstanding in spite of the score. We reached their circle with purpose by building up tidy, well-structured plays and communicating successfully. We maintained our defensive position and were awarded another penalty corner, but we were unable to convert it.
We played much more confidently in the last quarter. The new structure was aggressive yet well-organized, and it seemed right. We kept up our smart defense and pressuring, cutting off a number of Olten's short corners. Nevertheless, they scored a fourth goal late in the contest.
Final Score: 0 Us vs. 4 Olten
Even though we lost, this game represented a significant improvement. We were able to improve our offensive build-up's structure, transitions, and clarity thanks to the new system. Although the outcome did not accurately represent the caliber of our play, we are eager to improve upon this performance because it clearly shows promise.
