Grasshopper Club Zürich - Servette HC --- 3:2
Grasshoppers came out on top in a five-goal thriller at the Stadt de GC to leave them on the brink of confirming their place in this year's Final Four.
In a raucous atmosphere on a balmy Spring afternoon, Servette took the lead with a well worked penalty corner which ultimately eluded the Hoppers defense. The Genevans are battle hardened opponents and repelled multiple Grasshoppers ensuing attacks, nonetheless they were unable to keep short corner specialist Fabio Landtwing out who dispatched effectively past the Servette goalkeeper to bring the game level.
Landtwing then turned provider when he found fellow Swiss international Pat Krüsi who collected the ball on the move, turned his defender and slotted home with a tomahawk worth the hype. The visitors tried to force their way back into the game but could not find a way past Egloff in the Hopper's goal. Fabio grabbed his second with a tidy finish to give a 2 goal cushion going into the final minutes. With the clock running down, Gaël Wyss-Chodat scored Servette's second to set up a potential nervous few minutes but Grasshoppers saw the game out and collected three very welcome points to put some distance between them and fellow Final Four contenders.
