GC Herren 1: Despite Victory - GC will play in NLA Challenge

Grasshopper Club Zürich – HC Olten --- 3:0

This Sunday against HC Olten was the last game of the first round of the NLA Master. GC needed a victory with a goal difference of at least five goals in order to maintain their place in the top league.

The GC team started the game with high intensity and after only three minutes they managed to get a short corner where they scored with Lars Bamberg. Still in the first half GC managed to score again twice, first with a nice backhand shot from Lukas Müller, and then with a penalty shot from Bamberg. At half time GC was leading 3:0.

In the second half the GC defense again played an intelligent and careful game and did not concede any goal. On the offense front, the whole team created multiple goal chances and short corners. Unfortunately they did not manage to score and so the score did not change in the second half anymore.


Starting next week GC will start the second round in the NLA Challenge, with the focus of coming back in the top league as soon as possible next spring.
