GC Herren 1: Defeat in Geneva

Servette HC - Grasshopper Club Zürich --- 3:1

A sunny and warm day for a match with only 12 players against Servette in Geneva.

The first quarter didn’t start as planned with an early goal from Servette, a couple of penalty corners against GC and too many aerial balls played by our team, which didn’t make us play fluidly.

The second quarter began with the best minutes for GC, playing more through the left side and with less aerials. Although GC was playing better, Servette scored a penalty corner with a nice deflection. But GC kept fighting, playing solid and Denis made a brilliant run when he was knocked down by the goalkeeper. The penalty stroke was scored by our captain Roman.

The last two quarters GC started to feel in their legs having only one substitute, and although the players fought hard and gave everything they had, Servette scored the 3:1. Towards the end of the game GC tried to play full pressing, and managed to play more in Servette’s side, but without any luck.
