Red Sox HC Zürich - Grasshopper Club Zürich --- 3:6
The match of Red Sox vs GC took place on the 4th July. The GC ladies were full involved from the first minute as Markus had impressed upon them. The first attack from GC was already a goal. Fiona forwarded the ball to Anina, who sent it into the goal. The second goal by Anne Sofie followed a bit after that. However, RedSox did not sleep. Their counter-attack was unstoppable and the score was 2:1. But Julia was able to make it 3:1 by shooting in the D of Red Sox and this was followed by a corner for GC - 4:1. The first half was a success!
After a solid first half, GC were confident going into the third quarter. On a counter-attack, Red Sox hit the ball into the D which was deflected into the goal. Shortly after, GC’s pressure paid off and they scored one back to bring the score to 5:2. In a strong final quarter, the whole GC team pressed up the pitch. This created some good short corner opportunities and another goal for GC. Final score 6:3 to GC.
