GC Damen: Home Defeat against Lucerne

Grasshopper Club Zürich - Luzerner SC --- 0:6

In the 4th game of the season we had to compete with Luzerner SC. We had a motivating team meeting and a great warm up… but then we just didn’t wake up in the first few minutes of the game. This led to a unfortunate 0:1 for Lucerne. However we were able to compete against the slightly stronger Lucerne during the match and had many great counter attacks and offensive initiatives. With a bit more luck we could definitely have scored a goal.

Although the game ended up 0:6 for Lucerne, we could notice how our game improved, thanks to a constant and experienced core team. We were running a lot and defended and attacked with a  lot of commitment. In a nutshell, we had a lot of fun!

Most of all, this Sunday was characterised by some news: While Tanja Landtwing from the juniors played her first game with us, and did an amazing job defending our goal, we had to say goodbye to our much valued team member Tanja Melle, who played her last game with us in the outdoor season. We are definitely going to miss you on the pitch Tanja!
